OMG... today just sucked.

Cory got his meds at 7:45 and we got down to transport and loaded while it was sprinkling.
Arrived at the hospital only to not know what we are suppose to do or where to go since no one told us!
We were late.
Got ran around to 3 different places.
Had to do pre-admittance. (took 3 hours)
Then we were finally able to go to where we were suppose to be.
Same day surgery.
Wait another 3 hours.
by this time he was in so much pain.
They didn't send us with any drugs and basically treated us as outpatient.
They finally took him back and worked on him for about 4 hours.
During this time I go buy a drink, can't open it and literally give myself a blister trying to.
The doctor updates me.
The cornea was thinned completely but not perforated.
They used donor white parts of the eye to wrap around the cornea along with glue and sutures to hold it in place for as long as possible. They would ideally like to keep the oil in for the retina another 2 months. (oil is toxic to corneas) His right eye has sutures sticking out a lot so they removed them and redid them and hopefully they will be less irritating. He has a check up May 1st basically the same thing as today. but in 2 months they should remove the oil, do cornea transplants and a lens repair at a later date.
Then he will hopefully see more.
So after the doctor updated me on all this he said Cory was in recovering and I could see him soon.
3 hours later...
Someone finally comes in and tells me they forgot about me.
(biting my tongue)
Now NO ONE arranged for us to get back to the polytrauma center!
So they scrambled to do so seeing as its almost 6 pm by now and everyone is closing up.
The guy is down stairs waiting on us so we RUSH.
Cory is half in n out of it still as I try n get his pants on him and he gets into his chair without a slide board.
We roll for it! lol
Made it in time and its raining as we load.
Takes us an hour to get back because we are caught in rush hour.
Cory is in pain.
I am frantic to find him relief.
Make it back, unload in the rain and make a roll for it to the doors.
Come down our hallway and say honey were home!
Our nurses giggle at us.
They hook Cory up with some of his meds, re-wrap his nubbies, and I feed him dinner.
The pain is not going away and only getting worse.
He is playing catch up from all the meds missed today.
Night doctor comes in, we talk, she orders him a little extra for tonight.
another hour passes.
He tells me to go back to the fisher house bc I need rest.
I oblige him.
except I stop and talk to the nurse instead and she finds the new order for more and tells me he is getting all his pain stuff as well so he is about to get hit with all his stuff at once.
I KNOW THIS WILL HELP HIM.
I go back in to tell him (which was only 10 mins later)
He is fucking crying. He wanted me to go so I wouldn't see him cry.
I tell him what I just did and that his nurse is coming with his goodies right now.
He kisses me like 50x while crying.
Hopefully he can sleep now.
To say today was a rough one is an understatement.

This crap can not happen again.
People need to better clarify and give better instructions.
They need to have a better plan in place.

I almost throat punched so many people today.

One older lady in the waiting room was too cute and made waiting bearable for me.
another lady pissed me off  because she talked about how some solider was late and bumped her dad back.
and that they found more wrong with his eye than anticipated.
Yea, I spoke up.
Thank would be my husband your talking about.
She shut right up.
I proceeded to tell the old woman about his story instead.

Wounded Warrior lady stopped by while we were gone and dropped us off some awesome swag!

Here's some pictures, I'm going to bed.
