Today was a fantastic day :)
We started the day off with OT.
He got to lift weights.
He got his new temp wheel chair until his custom comes in.
He is more independent now since he can wheel himself sometimes.
However, its more of a bitch to transfer because the wheel is in the way.
We pretty much have transportation down pat now!
Which makes me feel more conformable having now down it a couple of times.
We had and appointment at CFI today. (Center For Intrepid)
With his orthopedic surgon/CFI Director Dr. Gajewski. (Dr. G)
He said he is looking AMAZING.
They removed the stitches from the left nub and put a tighter shrinker on.
They removed the bandages on his right nubby and said it was ok to start a shrinker on that one as well!
Shrinkers are light tightening sleeves preparing his nubbys for sockets for his prosthetics.
He would have him at the CFI now if his pain was under control.
Also, he wants him to get vision training here.
Which he really hasn't had much off.
So we need to ask Dr, Epean about that as well as starting to try and find an oral combination that can control his pain better and have the IV as back up in case it doesn't work and it becomes unbearable.
We wont know what will work until we try.
However, what he is taking orally now isn't enough obviously,
since he has to take the IV Dilaudid of 2mg every 2-3 hours to keep the pain down.
We have got to find a plan.
Dr. G thinks we might be outpatient in 2 weeks if Cory keeps up they way he has!
CFI if deff more Cory's style he hates the small steps and is ready to make real strides.
He just doesn't realize that he already is!
Once we get done at Polytrauma, we become outpatient!
We will get to live somewhere together out of a hospital setting and go to CFI 4-5hrs/day.
Which I can't wait for! It's hard sleeping without my hunnybuns!
His right arm is also healed up and waiting on clearance to bear weight in his wrist.
They no longer have to put goop on it! lol
His right nubby is looking SOOOO much better! |
His arm decoration lol they call his scars tattooing! Lol |
They did so good on lining up the incision. |
Y'all have a blessed night!

Becoming an out patient is a great move, you should celebrate,If you cant go out, maybe make his favorite Meal. i am way too far from Ft Bragg to help in the moving, sorry. i am sure his unit will help with that.
